August 22, 2013

A new study show Americans are growing less concerned about dangerous driving behaviors.

The survey by AAA shows a decrease in concern for behaviors like drunk, distracted, aggressive, or tired driving.

The report notes there has been a 5.3 percent increase in traffic fatalities in the U.S. from 2011 to 2012. Nationally, there were more than 34,000 deaths in 2012.

The Commonwealth is following that trend, with a 1.4 percent increase in traffic fatalities. A total of 775 people died on Virginia roads in 2012.
