The AIDS Services Group is preparing for its 16th-annual AIDS Walk.
More than 300 people attended the walk last year and raised $50,000 to help benefit ASG and its work with people who have HIV and AIDS.
This year's theme centers around the decline of new HIV cases among women.
There will also be performances and prizes for people who participate.
"This is something that we are celebrating among the women," said ASG community health worker Kaitlyn Wernsing. "Over the past couple years, we were at 20 percent of new HIV infections are in women, which has gone down from years before, so this is definitely a celebration."
The AIDS Walk kicks off at 10 a.m. on Oct. 5. Registration is free but ASG is asking for donations.
