Albemarle County Parks & Recreation Department will be holding its annual Christmas Tree Recycling Program again this year.
Charlottesville residents will have free curbside pickup of trees on the week of January 14th. Trees must be at the curbside by 7am.
Albemarle County residents must drop off their trees at one the following sites, which will be open daily from 7AM until dark:
- Chris Greene Lake Park in Earlysville
- Crozet Park in Crozet
- Darden Towe Park on Elks Drive
- Greenwood Community Center in Greenwood
- Rivanna Solid Waste Authority Recycling Center on McIntire Road (Sunday hours are 12:30-5:30 PM)
- Scottsville Community Center in Scottsville
- Walnut Creek Park off Old Lynchburg Road
Drop off sites will be active from December 26th through January 16th.
Trees will be recycled into free mulch, which will be available at Darden Towe Park starting February 1st.
The program is for Christmas trees only. All decorations, stands, and nails must be removed prior disposal.
