Update: Driver in Milton Road Crash Found

December 21, 2012

Albemarle County Police have charged a driver with DUI after they say he crashed his car on Milton Road Thursday night.

Police say David Boyd was driving drunk when he crashed his car into a tree at about 9:30 p.m. Thursday night, in the 2500 block of Milton Road between North Milton Road and Route 53.

Boyd was not at the scene of the accident when police arrived, but they later found him at his home. He was taken to Martha Jefferson Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Milton Road in Albemarle County was closed for two hours Thursday night due to an accident. The accident happened at about 9:30 p.m.

Police say they are currently looking for the driver. They are using blood hounds to try and find the driver of the car.

The road reopened at about 11:25 p.m.

Police say the road was very dark and very slick at the time of the accident.
