Albemarle County Police need the public's help in finding a man they say attempted to take a 2-year-old girl at Charlottesville Fashion Square on Saturday.
It happened around 2 p.m. inside the mall. Police say a man walked up behind a 2-year-old girl, who was walking along with her parents, and picked her up. The child's father ran after the suspect, and he released the child.
Mall security walked the suspect off the property but didn't notify police until hours later.
The suspect is described as light-skinned, about 6-foot 3-inches, and weighing between 220 and 235 pounds.
Police ask anyone with information on this incident to call Crime Stoppers at 434-977-4000.
