Employees at the Madison Drug Company say a man wearing a mask walked into their store around 10:30 a.m. Christmas Eve morning, pointing a gun and demanding pills.
"He essentially just walked up and said, 'Give me all your Oxycodone,'" said Tom Kees, the pharmacist behind the counter. "I put some in the bag and he took the bag and left...The whole thing took about fifteen seconds."
Kees said the robber pointed a semi-automatic pistol and took over $200 of the prescription narcotic.
Four people were in the store at the time of the robbery. One woman managed to run out of the building and next door to the Sheriff's Department. The suspect managed to get away. He's described as six feet tall, about 300 pounds.
Kees said in the 30 years he's worked at the Madison Drug Co., there has never been a robbery before. Another worker said the long-running drug store has never had any armed robberies in its history.
Police closed the pharmacy and blocked off the road during their investigation on Tuesday.
