Arrest Made in Connection to Garrett Street Shooting

Charlottesville Police have arrested 18-year-old Michael Brown in connection to a shooting last Wednesday, May 29.

Brown is charged with robbery, felonious assault, and two counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony.

Officers responded to a report of gunshots at the intersection of Garrett and Fourth streets just south of the Downtown Mall Wednesday night around 5:30.

When police arrived at the scene, everyone had scattered. Police found Brown on Garrett street on Saturday. He's being held in the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail pending a court appearance this week.
