A UVa student has been diagnosed with bacterial meningitis. This serious disease kills 15 percent of the people who get it.
The student got immediate treatment and is expected to recover.
The disease can be spread through direct physical contact, but it does not spread through the air.
Some of the symptoms include a high fever, headache, and a rash.
The university sent an alert to all students warning them to take precautions.
