The Charlottesville fire marshal is investigating the cause of a basement fire that happened at a home on Altamont Street Sunday afternoon.

The four residents of the duplex house live upstairs and say no one lives in the downstairs apartment where the fire broke out.

They say a few days ago, half of their power went out and that their fuses are old and blow out frequently.

No one was hurt and fire crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire.
