The Albemarle County Board of Supervisors could choose a replacement for the open Scottsville seat as early as Wednesday afternoon.
Last week, ten candidates for the interim seat spoke to the Board of Supervisors about why they would be the best candidate for the district.
Supervisor Ken Boyd recently said during a closed session that there didn't appear to be a clear front-runner.
If the board can't decide on a replacement before the July 22 deadline, a judge will have to make the decision.
