The Nelson County Sheriff's Department has identified a body found in an abandoned quarry in the Schuyler part of the county. According to Nelson County Life, officials recovered the body of Earl Miller, 24, of Nelson County from the water.

Police originally received a call for an abandoned car that was found.

Sheriff David Brooks said his department had been searching the area along Route 800 in eastern Nelson County for clues since 8:30 Thursday morning.

The Sheriff's office first received a call about an abandoned car near the old quarry in Schuyler. Soon thereafter, deputies found a jacket and clothing on a rock near the top of the quarry. While they do not suspect foul play, deputies are treating the area as a crime scene until it is ruled out

"We working it as a crime scene at this point in time to cover all bases," Sheriff Brooks told CBS19.

Authorities have not indicated when they will release the identity of young man.
