Virginia Lieutenant Governor Bill Bolling is considering re-entering the governor's race as an independent.
In November Bolling removed himself from the race for the Republican nomination. He disagreed with the party's decision to chose a nominee with a convention instead of a primary.
Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli is the front-runner for that spot, but Bolling says the party is alienating voters.
"Unfortunately, at a time when the Republican party needs to be a big tent party, it seems to me that we're doing everything we can do to become a pup tent party," said Bolling. "That is not the right direction for the Republican party."
Terry McAuliffe is the front-runner for the Democratic nomination for governor.
