A brief blast of wintry weather caused slick driving conditions Tuesday morning in Albemarle County.
The scattered snow shower hit the area around Route 29 and Rio Road the hardest. The snow, which began around 9: 30 a.m., was heavy at times and stuck to the roads around Fashion Square mall.
Slick roads coupled with decreased visibility led to dangerous driving conditions for the tail end of the morning commute. Police responded to several minor fender benders in the area.
Flurries also fell around the Newsplex in downtown Charlottesville, but not enough to stick.
