Buford Middle School students gather for the dedication of a giant garden-themed mural on the side of their gymnasium .
The more than 2,000 square foot painting took several weeks and more than 25 gallons of paint to complete.
Buford students worked with the UVa Students Arts Committee to make the design come to life.
Delu Stricker helped paint the mural. She says she hopes it will encourage more people to spend time together in nature.
"Art and being involved with the Earth and stuff is one of my favorite things, and I think that's something that a lot of people should be involved with"
The mural is part of the Charlottesville Mural Project.
