A spaghetti fundraiser organized by some Albemarle County students is paying off.
Thursday morning, students at CATEC presented a check for $891 to the American Red Cross, to help the victims of Hurricane Sandy.
The students hosted a spaghetti dinner in November as a way of raising money for those impacted by the storm.
"It's definitely very nice to see our whole fundraiser come together and see that our class of just being high school students could get as much money as we did for the red cross," said student Kelsey Rund.
The event was organized by dozens of students in the catering class at CATEC.
