In the aftermath of last Thursday's big snow storm, some local body shops say they've seen an increase of fender benders.
Cosner Brothers Body Shop in Charlottesville says they've seen 25 percent more cars come into the shop over the past few days.
"We've been busy, quite busy. Towed a lot of wrecks in, as you can see in the parking lot, we've got quite a few wrecks," said owner Grant Cosner.
In the parking lot of Conser's at least five cars had dents and scratches to the fender or bumper; some cars were even missing a headlight. According to Cosner those dings can cost up to a couple thousand dollars to repair.
Cosner says the snow and ice were problematic for drivers, some whom may not have been used to the conditions.
"Some of the snow hits are not that bad because they are not going very fast. It's not like on dry roads, but they still do a lot of damage to the cars," Cosner said.
As the snow melts, Cosner encourages drivers to slow down and be on the look out for ice.
