Career Day at Broadus Wood Elementary School

February 1, 2013

Some Albemarle County students are getting a jump start when it comes to choosing a career.

The annual career day for students at Broadus Wood Elementary School was held on Friday. Students learned about different jobs like being a chef, pilot, police officer and more.

Organizers say, having a career day can help teach kids exactly what they need to do to get the job they want.

“It's very important for students to have exposure to careers early on because we want them to see what options are available,” says Principal Kendra King. “We also want them to know the choices that they need to make in order to accomplish their goals.

The Newsplex’s Stephanie Satchell was on hand to spek to the kids about the news industry.
