The man accused of causing a standoff that lasted for hours in the Lake Monticello community is sentenced to two years in jail.
James Lewis Kardos plead guilty to two firearms charges and obstruction of justice in Fluvanna County on Thursday.
Kardos faces additional jail time in Charlottesville: He pled guilty to charges there earlier in the week. Police say Kardos assaulted a woman in Charlottesville back in February, and then drove to his father's home in the Lake Monticello neighborhood. A 9-hour standoff with law enforcement followed, until police decided to storm the house and arrest Kardos.
A Charlottesville court has scheduled for Kardos be sentenced in December.
