CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) - A Charlottesville native has been selected as a 2013 Rhodes Scholar.
Daniel W. Young is a senior at Cornell who is majoring in philosophy and minoring in South Asian studies. He's among 32 American students who were named Sunday in the newest group of Rhodes Scholars who will be awarded scholarships to study at Oxford University.
Young plans to study philosophy while at Oxford.
The prestigious awards provide all expenses for up to four years of study at the university in England. The winners were selected from 838 applicants endorsed by 302 different colleges and universities. The scholars will enter Oxford next October.
