The City of Charlottesville will begin its stormwater utility fee next week after approval of the fee was made last year.
In February 2013, Charlottesville City Council approved an ordinance establishing a Stormwater Utility Fee to provide a dedicated and steady source of funding for the Water Resources Protection Program (WRPP), which will help the city maintain and upgrade its stormwater drainage system.
The fee became effective in January 2014.
The fee will be billed for the first time on Monday, April 28, concurrent with real estate tax bills.
Additional information about the fee will be included in the April 28 billing.
More information about the Stormwater Utility Fee and the WRPP can be found at the Water Resources Protection Program Website: www.charlottesville.org/wrpp
