SPCA Benefits from Crafts for Critters

May 4, 2013

The fourth-annual Crafts for Critters Spring Show took place at the Seminole Square Shopping Center. It’s a fundraiser for the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA.

Customers could shop for homemade crafts like greeting cards, jewelry, glass art and photography. There were 22 vendors on hand. They hope to raise about $2,000.

Heather Gerry, whose business is called The Jade Butterfly, was one of the vendors who helped to organize the event.

"I have some rescue animals myself that I've gotten. I love animals and it's a great way for me to help bring awareness to a great cause," said Gerry.

Two cats were adopted on the spot at the craft show. It will return in the fall just after Thanksgiving.
