FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) - Fairfax County police are investigating a fatal crash after a man drove the wrong way on the Fairfax County Parkway.
Police say 44-year-old Abraham Aragon of Manassas was driving his 1993 Mazda northbound in the southbound lanes of the road about 1:40 a.m. on Sunday. Some vehicles were able to veer away from the oncoming car. But the Mazda struck a 2002 Toyota Avalon head-on.
Aragon was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver and passenger of the Toyota Avalon were treated at a hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The passenger was a 29-year-old woman who was pregnant at the time of the crash. Police say the baby was delivered early and is in serious condition.
Police are investigating whether alcohol was a factor in the crash.
