Work on Afton Mountain, which has been ongoing for more than a month, will be delayed once again.
The Virginia Department of Transportation says work is canceled on Monday, because of the weather conditions. V-DOT says it is too wet, and foggy for crews to work.
Weather permitting, work will continue on Tuesday. Road closures will begin at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday and last through the day.
The work is to remove unstable soil from a part of Afton Mountain.
Traffic will be cut off between 30 to 45 minutes at a time between Exits 107 and 96.
Drivers can use Route 250 as an alternate.
