A dinner honored local work to give everyone the ability to visit the dentist.
The 15,000 Smiles dinner celebrated the work of the local Community Dental Center.
The event also honored Dr. William Viglione, a founder of the Center, with its first Founders Award.
The Center treats children with Medicaid and FAMIS and uninsured children and adults. A member said that affordable dentist visits help patients with their teeth and more.
"People don't realize how important dental care is to finding a job, to getting ahead in school, to self esteem issues. And we provide those services and it's very interesting to see our patients when they come in, the change in their attitude toward themselves and what they can achieve in the workplace or in school," said Robert Tobey, a founder and member of the Center's Board of Directors.
The event also featured an auction to raise money for the Center.
