People had a chance to learn and talk about the economic perks of having a walkable and bike-friendly community.
The Economic Benefits of Walkable and Bike Friendly Communities took place in Charlottesville on Thursday night.
People were able to hear and ask questions about how the ability to bike and walk easily not only helps our health, environment, and travel, but also attracts businesses and tourists.
"There are a lot of reasons to invest in biking and walking, you know," said Pedestrian Coordinator Amanda Poncy. "Transportation just one of them. But, you know, we do think that there are economic benefits as well and we want to broaden that conversation."
People discussed bike parking and different styles of biking lanes.
