Belmont Baptist Church was barking with excitement.

The fourth-annual Barktoberfest took place Saturday afternoon. The even started years ago as a way for the church to meet others in the community and has blossomed from there.

Some dogs dressed down in costume while others played games like Bobbing for Hot Dogs. Church members say their pets are gifts from God.

"Of all the neighbors that we have, we have a lot of dogs and we see a lot of neighbors walking their dogs," pastor Greg Anderson said. "We thought, well this would be a great way to connect with people we see that have a similar interest because we all love our pets."

Dogs and their owners even took part in a pet blessing, showing that four-legged friends are truly a part of the family.
