The traffic crossings along the Downtown Mall are deteriorating, and Charlottesville City Council is considering allocating money for repairs.
The crossings are on Second Street and Fourth Street along the mall. The city reports the bricks along the mall are getting damaged by the cars.
Repairs could cost the city up to $120,000.
Councilors are also considering whether to allow trucks with more than two axels to use the intersections, as they put more weight on the brick walkway.
