Albemarle County leaders and emergency personnel came together to improve cooperation in the event of a waste water disaster.
Wednesday morning, the Albemarle Service Authority hosted dozens of city and county workers to improve their disaster response teamwork.
The training, which included police and fire participation, focused on water and sewer emergencies.
"The biggest thing we have happen is electrical outages that knock out pump stations and facilities or bad weather that might damage a line," said Gary O'Connell with the Albemarle County Service Authority. "So we're trying to plan ahead and prepare for that and coordination with all the different agencies is one way to help do that, and this training program is another way to help do that."
The training took place over a two day period, and included more than forty workers.
