Two people were taken to the hospital Sunday afternoon after a car crashed through the side of a Burger King restaurant in the Barracks Road Shopping Center.
It happened around 1 p.m. Sunday. Police say three women were inside the car when the accident happened. The driver was not injured, but two passengers were taken to the University of Virginia Medical Center for minor injuries.
Police say the driver of the car hit the gas pedal instead of the brakes, putting the car six feet into the side of the restaurant. No one inside the restaurant was injured.
Charges against the driver may be pending.
