A bizarre crash early Thursday morning forced the closure of an Albemarle County road.
Albemarle County Police said a car crashed into two horses that were standing in the middle of Stony Point Road a little south of Burnley Station Road.
Traffic was blocked in both directions while rescue crews treated the driver for minor injuries.
The horses were killed in the crash and the car was totaled.
No charges will be filed.
