Family Asking for Community's Help After House Fire

After losing nearly everything in a fire, the Buschmann family is asking for the community’s support while they get their lives back on track.

The family is currently receiving support from the American Red Cross and Charlottesville Fire Department.

Virginia Organizing and City of Promise are collecting monetary donations to support the Buschmann family. If you would like to donate, please make checks payable to Virginia Organizing and write City of Promise Fire Fund in the memo. All proceeds will go to support the Buschman family.

Non-monetary donations, such as clothing, are being accepted at First Baptist Church on 632 W. Main Street.

Firefighters were called to the home on Anderson Street home last Thursday, Aug. 7, where the found smoke and fire coming from the bedroom.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
