The father of the toddler who was grabbed by James Kevin Key spoke to CBS19 News.
He tells us that he is worried that Key will hurt others, or himself.
We asked the father, who didn't want his name to be published, how he reacted when Key grabbed his child.
"I got up to him and I just started yelling, 'That's my child! That's my child, sir, that's my child, that is my child!" the father said. "And he took a few shuffle steps back and finally my wife was able to grab our daughter."
"He looked at (my wife), made eye contact with her, kind of a creepy grin at her. And to this day my wife is freaked out by it. The look he gave her was scary."
He says his daughter is now doing fine, and that she wasn't really aware of what was happening.
But he and his wife were terrified.
We also asked him if Key appeared to be having a mental lapse, or was unaware of his surroundings. The father says Key was able to respond to them.
"Only he knows whether he was or was not having a seizure," said the father. "Did he have one? I can't claim to know that. I'm skeptical."
We asked the father what he thinks should be done with Key?
"Does he need help, does he need to be incarcerated?" said the father. "I can't claim to know that. But something more than nothing, and nothing has been done and nothing's being done. I mean, he took our child!"
"Do I think he's going to abduct another girl in the mall? Probably not," he said. "But will he get behind a car? Yes. Will he do something? I'm pretty confident that he's not going to take the precautions."
