It's your last week to help others in our community put their best food forward. The Salvation Army and two local podiatrists have teamed up to collect shoes for the homeless.
The shoe drive began at the beginning of January and this week marks the final days to help.
There are sever place around town to drop off the shoes. A full list can be found here.
One of those places is the VA Discovery Museum on the Downtown Mall. They say shoes are something you don't specifically think about donating.
Kaitlin Clear, Education Manager at the VA Discovery Museum, said, "They are expensive certainly to buy new shoes and when your feet are cold, your entire body is cold."
Clear also said there haven't been as many shoes donated this year at the museum but she is still hopeful that by next week the room will be full of shoes.
