Firefighters Collecting Donations for Muscular Dystrophy Association

August 23, 2013

Charlottesville firefighters are asking for your help to fill the boot.

They're raising money for the annual Fill The Boot campaign, which helps the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).

Every year, Charlottesville firefighters collect donations from drivers at popular intersections.

Last year, they raised $15,000 for the MDA.

“This year our goal is $18,000," says Jimmy Strother with the Charlottesville Fire Department. "Over the last 15 years Charlottesville professional firefighters have been able to donate over $150,000 to the MDA."

Firefighters will be standing at various intersections this weekend and next, asking for your donations.
