UPDATE: Fluvanna Death Ruled Suicide

A lifeless man found Friday night along a Fluvanna County road appears to have died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to an email from the Fluvanna County Sheriff's Office.

A passerby called the sheriff's office around 5:30 p.m. Friday reporting a man's body along Albevanna Springs Road near the Hardware River. An empty car was parked along the road in the same general area.

The sheriff's office reports the gunshot appears to be self-inflicted, based on the initial investigation. The man's body has been taken to the medical examiner in Richmond for an autopsy.

Fluvanna County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting death that occurred alongside Albevanna Spring Road around 5:30 PM Friday.

Police are in the early stages of investigation and are not looking for any suspects at this time.
