The Fluvanna County School Board approved a new name for the old middle school in the county.

The school has been named Carysbrook Elementary School. Third and fourth graders will attend the school next fall.

This is part of the Domino plan to re-align schools when the new high school opens. Under the plan, Central, Cunningham and Columbia elementary schools will each house students in pre-K through second grade.

The existing middle school, renamed Carysbrook Elementary, will be an upper elementary school for grades 3-4. The current high school will transition to an intermediate school for grades 5-7. Finally, the new high school will house grades 8-12.

Construction on the new high school is moving forward without delays and is expected to be completed by fall 2012.

Well, it certainly did not take a Rocket Sceintist to figure out the name for the school.
