Food Drive Collects Over 190 Thousand Pounds of Goods

The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank has received more than 192,000 pounds of food during the Stamp Out Hunger food drive on May 11.

During the food drive, mail carriers left bags in people's mail boxes, which the residents could fill with food for the mail carriers to pick up later.

Charlottesville contributed more than 71,000 pounds of food, and the Shenandoah Valley collected more than 46,000 pounds.

The food collected will provide more than 160,000 meals to families in our area.
