Albemarle County public school students will have an opportunity this weekend to get a free sports physical examination.
Students who are planning to participate in interscholastic athletics this coming school year are required to pass a physical examination, and on Saturday, July 27, they will be able to obtain their sports physical free of charge at Booker T. Washington Park.
The free physicals are being offered as part of the Charlottesville Community Health Fair between 10 AM and 2 PM this Saturday.
All eighth grade and high school students are eligible for the free sports physicals, but are asked to register in advance by calling 434-243-2079.
Students must also bring with them the required Virginia High School League sports physical form signed by a parent or guardian.
Physicals completed now provide eligibility through June 30, 2014.
