Gas Line Installation Snarls Traffic on McIntire Road

June 2, 2013

Utility work on McIntire Road snarled traffic in Charlottesville on Sunday afternoon, and the same work will continue Monday.

The road was closed off to traffic for a portion of the afternoon for the installation of a gas line. Police say the work is related to the Route 250 interchange project.

Drivers heading north on McIntire Road were rerouted back south on Harris Street, and police say more delays will continue Monday as the work continues around 9 a.m.
