AAA reports that 86 percent of drivers are driving less because gas prices are still hovering at around $3.52.

A local driver, Tondeloyo Cooper, explains how it has affected her, "It completely put a stop to a lot of stuff, a whole lot of stuff because I used to come to Charlottesville probably about three to four times a week and now its only about twice a month, that's it"

Cooper is not alone, the report also says the 71 percent of people surveyed said they don't shop or eat out as much as a result.

"Now, none of that. Buying a movie at home is much cheaper" Cooper said.

Some good news on the horizon, however, as AAA says that prices are expected to drop throughout the summer.

"A few years ago when it actually hit 4 dollars a gallon is when I actually traded in my SUV for a smaller car that was more economical." says Jared Adams, another local driver, "For it to hit that point again I would probably go the bicycle route for some things."
