More than a hundred area girl scouts got together Sunday for the second annual "Be a Santa to a Senior."
For two full days, scouts from ages 5 through 17 wrote holiday cards, created ornaments and decorated cookies all to make a less fortunate senior citizen in the community smile during the holidays.
"It's fun to know that someone will get it on the holiday, and be happy and like it. It just makes you feel good while you do it," said Rachel, a Charlottesville girl scout.
The girl scouts will also be doing a big gift wrapping day next week to make sure everything is ready for local senior citizens' Christmas.
