A new poll suggests Governor McDonnell is low on the list of possible presidential candidates.
A Quinnipiac University poll released on Friday shows McDonnell earning just 1 percent of support against other potential Republican contenders.
Florida Senator Marco Rubio tops the poll at 19 percent, followed by Wisconsin Representative Paul Ryan at 17 percent and Kentucky Senator Rand Paul at 15 percent.
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie took 14 percent. Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush took 10 percent. Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker and Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal joined McDonnell at below 5 percent.
A remaining 19 percent of those polled picked someone else or weren't sure.
Quinnipiac surveyed 1,711 registered voters from March 26 to April 1. The survey included 712 Republicans.
