(AP) - A group of students at the University of Virginia is seeking the resignation of Rector Helen Dragas.
The group called Hoos University plans to hold a protest at noon Thursday at the Rotunda. Following the protest, the students plan to march to the Harrison Institute and deliver an open letter about their concerns to the Board of Visitors.
In addition to Dragas' resignation, the group wants a complete explanation of the board's failed attempt to oust President Teresa Sullivan this summer. It also is seeking public discussion of U.Va.'s employment practices.
Organizer and graduate student Austin Hetrick tells the Richmond Times-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/T6ydZW ) that the university needs reforms that have a more lasting impact that only protecting the president.
