The Town of Columbia was chartered on 1788 where the James River and Rivanna Rivers meet. For 226 years, the town has survived wars, floods, and hurricanes. Now, they need your help.
On August 19, 2014, Columbia's Town Council will vote to disincorporate the town so that it may appear on the November election as a referendum. Officials say this is due to a big loss in population.
Because of its history and beauty, a group called "The Foundation For Columbia's Future" is reaching out to concerned citizens, in and effort to save one of Virginia's most historic towns. Their goal is to raise $20,000 in 20 days, and you can help.
