Travelers returning home from extended Fourth of July celebrations may have noticed lower prices at the pump.
Auto club AAA reports Sunday that gas prices remain at a five-month low. The national average is down 14 cents from a month ago, but they're still 14 cents higher than this time a year ago.
In Charlottesville, the average price per gallon is $3.27.
But AAA warns gas prices might not drop much farther in July. In fact, they might go up thanks to summertime demand, higher crude oil prices and the hurricane season.
