PETERSBURG, Va. (AP) - Hopewell officials are looking at ways to keep the city's only bus route going after a three-year grant runs out.

The route operated by Petersburg Area Transit costs more than $218,000 annually. It runs seven days a week and includes 32 stops. About 800 people ride the route weekly on average.

The Progress-Index (http://bit.ly/17DEvvT ) reports that the city's council is considering three options: continuing the service as is, reducing the service or taking over its management.

The council discussed the issue last week but didn't take any action.
