It's high school graduation season and John Paul Jones Arena was taken over by three ceremonies on Saturday.
Monticello, Albemarle and Charlottesville high school seniors all graduated on Saturday.
Families and friends gathered outside of the arena to take pictures and begin celebrating despite the heat.
The graduates were all smiles as they have now closed one chapter and opened another.
"It's been a long day. It didn't even feel real at first but I'm here and its happening. It's really happening," Jazmen Williams, a Monticello High School graduate, said.
Like most graduates she said she is grateful to have her entire family there to support her as she received the diploma.
