The Junior League's annual 'Kids in the Kitchen' event Sunday showed kids foods from all over the world to help promote their March fundraiser.

From Middle Eastern kabobs, to Moroccan spices kids learned about different foods and why they're healthy.

The Junior League promoted its fundraiser for the Whole Planet Foundation lasting throughout March. The foundation helps impoverished families feed their kids and grow financially.

Sunday's event at Whole Foods in Albemarle County is to prepare for next week's main 'Kids in the Kitchen' event at the Boys and Girls Club in Charlottesville.

"Any time that we're able to put kids together with food at a hands on event, they really enjoy it and it exposes them to things they may not have tried before," said Kristen Rabourdin, Marketing Leader for the Junior League.
