Large Group of Leaf-Peepers to Visit Downtown Charlottesville

More than a thousand people are making a trip to downtown Charlottesville this weekend.

The Charlottesville Albemarle Convention and Visitors Bureau say a group of leaf-peeping enthusiasts from North Carolina will be visiting the city for a few hours.

The group is scheduled to arrive by train around noon on Saturday, Oct. 12. They will make their way to the Downtown Mall via chartered buses.

The economic impact of their 3-hour visit is expected to be more than $90,000.
