The Literacy Volunteers of Charlottesville/Albemarle, whose home is in the Jefferson School City Center, used Saturday's open house to give out their 'Volunteer of the Year' award.
The award went to Kitty Baker this year. Baker says she thinks she gets the most joy out of volunteering than anyone else.
Baker helped one student pass the U.S. Citizenship test and says the more volunteers they literacy center has, the more people they can teach English and can become citizens.
